Unfortunately I was not informed of this GOTD beforehand (like the others) so I could not prepare a review beforehand. However be warned of two things:
1) Avira detected a trojan when trying to install this software.
2) SiteAdvisor says recordstreamingvideo.net (the developer's website) is dangerous because streaming-video-recorder_322667_trial.exe had a trojan in it.
I really can't tell you of free alternatives since I had Avira block this program from installing (therefore not really sure what this program can do). However some may be able to use BB Flasback Express as a adhoc recorder since it is a video capture tool?

#19, etc., Developer Support - Jacky, I'm certainly not going to give this the glowing reviews that others are. I installed on 32-bit Vista with UAC. The install was a total mess. I installed the original download, but skipped the adware/spyware. It installs and registers a bunch of somewhat common codecs in its own folder instead of System32, without checking for installed codecs. It sets itself up to run as an administrator. It uses some open-source software without credit. It installs two kernel-level drivers, always bad news. I haven't verified the executables, but they're CACE WinPcap, not clear whether they're the commercial or open-source version, I didn't check. Specifically, it installs Packet.dll, pthreadVC.dll, and wpcap.dll to System32, and npf.sys to System32\drivers. It wrote a completely incorrect service startup entry for WinPcap, "C:\Program Files\WinPcap\rpcapd.exe" -d -f "C:\Program Files\WinPcap\rpcapd.ini", which isn't useful since Program Files\WinPcap doesn't exist.
Streaming Video Recorder shows up as registered, but not much of anything works. It doesn't auto-capture, even after reboot, and if I try to add a YouTube URL, it simply opens the URL in IE8 without downloading. Supported Websites doesn't do anything. Streaming Video Recorder communicates with 52-38.bluehost.com, which is probably OK, the HTTP traffic I've seen so far are for www.apowersoft.com/support/ProductInstall.php and www.apowersoft.com/support/update/streaming-video-recorder.xml.

Unfortunately I was not informed of this giveaway beforehand so I was unable to prepare a review for it. I am not going to prepare a review now either because Avira detected a trojan while installing this file.
SiteAdvisor also lists the developer's website as dangerous because they detected a trojan in streaming-video-recorder_322667_trial.exe.
The trojan is probably from "SeekService" (which you can and should opt out from).
I really can’t tell you of free alternatives since I had Avira block this program from installing (therefore not really sure what this program can do).

Also mit der Aktivierung ist voller Schrott - ich sag´s mal so wie ich´s denke. Wenn bitte das alles wirklich richtig machen mit einer ordentlichen Lizenznummer.
Weil:
2 Tage später, nach download/Installation des Programms Rechner neu aufgesetzt und wieder dies installiert, das war´s, nix mehr mit Aktivierung.
Und das ist mit anderen netten Sachen auch so, das war´s mit Aktivierung, die Zeit ist vorbei, Programm nutzlos.
Oder soll es zum kaufen animieren? (Ein Schelm wer böses dabei denkt)
Ansonsten find ich das schon sehr gut das es sowas überhaupt gibt,
dafür meinen Respekt und meinen Dank.
Vielleicht lässt sich zu o.g. doch mal was ändern ?

Jetzt ist einmal etwas vernünftiges dabei und nicht immer nur Konverter oder Ripper und ausgerechnet diese Software lässt sich nicht aktivieren.

Keine Angst, das ist kein Trojaner, also verseucht nicht euer System.
Nur manche Programme erkennen indem Progr. einen. Mein Kaspersky hat keine Probleme!
Der Hersteller hat ja Entwarnung auf der engl. Seite gegeben und erklärt, weshalb es so ist. Denke schon das es stimmt. Und auf MyWot hat 1 Person was dazu geschrieben und es gab wenigeschlechte Bewertungen, ABER die wissen/wussten ja nicht, das es ein Problem mit der Seite bzw. mit dem Programm gibt. Ich benutze das Programm auf jeden Fall.

Sollte euch allen doch langsam zu denken geben, dass (fast ausschließlich) Antivir eine Meldung bringt. Liegt eben daran, dass Antivir nicht besonders gut ist, sondern absoluter Schrott.
ich hatte Antivir auf meinem alten Rechner. Nach einem Wechsel zu G-Data wurden über 120 Viren und Trojaner gefunden. Virenmeldungen bei Freware-programmen stellten sich als Falschmeldungen raus.
Deshalb meine Empfehlung:
Holt euch ein vernünftiges Antivirentool wie Kaspersky, G-Data, Norton usw. und deinstalliert die kostenlosen Schrott-Tools wie Avast, Avira und Co.

Das Antivirus Programm schlägt deshalb an, weil ein trojanerähnliches Plugin in dem Programm ist - solche Fehlalarme ist man doch bei Aufzeichnungsprogrammen gewohnt - genau wie bei Game-Trainer usw....
Keine Panik - man muss wohl auch ein wenig mehr wissen, um sich da auszukennen....

Micosoft Security Essentials findet ebenfalls nix...MSE soll ja angeblich im Scan gut sein und wenig bis keine Fehl-alarme produzieren.
Was ist nun? Gibts im Prog einen Trojan oder nicht?

aehm was soll denn der Dreck kann das teil nicht registrieren. klappt nicht angeblich wg der Firewall Einstellungen aber auch wenn die aus ist gehts nicht mann packt dann doch ne Text Datei mit der Seriennummer rein oder macht es vernünftig.. ist schon das 10 mal das ich die soft die hier angeboten wird deswegen nicht nutzen kann und sowas kotzt einen nur an.
