However, it should be noted that during install, you can opt to store Skype conversations solely on your home pc rather than in Gmail, yet even if you choose that option, as I did, the install cannot be completed unless you provide not just your Gmail address but also your password, which I was not about to do.
It seems bonkers to me, in terms of security -- they're not only going to have your Skype number but also your Google Account (which of course gives them access to way more than just email, if you're big on Google apps).
It also strikes me as odd that this software should be so narrowly applicable to Skype calls. You'd think, if they're going to be all over your Gmail Account, that you'd also be able to use it with Google Voice & Chat.
(for that matter, if I'm going to install a workstation app capable of recording telephone calls, why wouldn't this app also record any and all soft phone conversations emanating from my computer?)
And there's no indication on the developer's homepage that this app will ever be applicable for anything besides Skype.
I'm actually in the market for a nice integrated bit of software that seamlessly records my calls. I do lots of interviews as a writer & researcher and currently use a digital recorder, which is far less convenient.
Unfortunately, given the limited appeal of this product and the unlimited access it (supposedly) requires to my private data and communications, I can't even consider it.

after installing it is nt activating . " This Key Has already been registered using a different skype id "
After installing, I tried launching the program and got a prompt saying that the Skype account is already in use. I tried inputting my own Skype account but have been unsuccessful. Something is wrong with this program so I just uninstalled it.
First, I'm wondering what has happened with Ashraf, mike, and others who previously gave us useful evaluations of the software here.
Second, I don't understand what's with all you folks who give thumbs up or (especially) thumbs down, but don't make a comment about the programs. More and more of this is happening but I find it more stressful than helpful-- IF YOU HONESTLY HAVE STRONG FEELINGS, BASED ON EXPERIENCE, please be so kind as to share with the rest of us what you do/don't like. If you are simply voting to push an agenda, please quit!

Im Prinzip gefällt mir das Programm recht gut,
nur wie oben schon erwähnt ist das Datenschutztechnisch ein absoluter Supergau!!
Da keiner weiss und Google keinerlei Auskünfte über gespeicherte Daten und dessen Verbleib tätigt, nehme ich das lieber mit einen tool wie "No23" auf und speicher es halt auf der Festplatte..
Auch wenn es sehr praktisch ist, so gehören Privatgespräche nicht in ein Postfach und schon gar nicht auf einen Google-Server.

Ich erhalte beim Start eine Fehlermeldung:
Skype-ID: Giveawayoftheday
This licence key is applied only to the above Skype ID.you can use it on multiple computers.
Dann kommt ein durch Minuszeichen getrennter Licence key.
Darunter steht in roter Schrift:
This keyhas already been registered using a diffrent skype ID.
Es gibt nur die Option "buy licence" und "close". Buy heisst wohl, dass es nix für umme gibt. Also nix wie deinstallieren!

Verstehe irgendwie nur Bahnhof. Skype läuft doch lokal auf meinem PC warum sollte ich dann die Anrufe auf Google Mail speichern? Telefonieren mit der Cloud?

@1 Das hört sich tatsächlich nach einem Datenschutzsupergau an. Daß Google die Mails automatisch liest und auswertet ist ja bekannt, was noch nicht klar ist: Können die das auch mit Audio? Ich würde mal so sagen: Für Geheimdienste gehört sowas zu den Grundlagen und damit gibt es auch ein umfangreiches Angebot der Industrie. Das Geld um sich sowas anzuschaffen hat Google locker.

@ Antivirus (3): Das Programm meldet viel, wenn der Tag lang ist. Verwende noch einen anderen Virenscanner oder lade die betreffende Datei auf http://www.virscan.org/ hoch.

Google kennt jeder, und die Datensammelflut von Google ist auch allgemein bekannt. Nun soll ich ein Tool nutzen um der datenkrake noch mehr informationeen zukommen zu lassen die laut AGB von Google dann auch Google gehören? Ein grausiger Gedanke einen Persönlichen Tonmitschnitt einem dritten zur freien Verfügung zu stellen. Da geht der eigene Datenschut vor und endet nicht an der Festplatte.
