This GAOTD is an excellent and very handy product, especially for those people out there who are eager to learn a foreign languages at home(want to learn a foreign language? Hey dudes, why pay tons of money for nothing?? I learned English for FREEEEEE...LOL!!), since it enables you to speed up or slow down playback with ease.
So it's not an ordinary audio player, as someone wrongly said here, because it's designed for AUDIOBOOKS, which are in my view the best way to learn a foreign language with ease (but I quite understand that English native speakers crowding this forum usually don't need to learn a foreign language, thus don't care or don't figure out the importance of tools like this GAOTD).
This GAOTD supports batch mode and both MP3 and OGG audio file formats, with the ability to integrate itself with Windows Explorer.
Overall, if you are an AUDIOBOOK enthusiast, this is a MUST HAVE TOOL; if not, just skip it but do not give it a THUMBS DOWN

When I installed this I found that it was not what I had hoped for but was so impressed by the interface that I decided to give it a try.
I really like the lovely clean interface, for someone older like myself it really helps, and I'll agree that as some of the comments have noted VLC is very similar in many respects.
One important difference for anyone learning a language, when the speech is slowed down or speed up the pitch does not change and it is not done in steps but has a variable range, this is not the case in VLC. It certainly will be a great help to the lady who comes and helps me with my housework, she is trying to learn English.
A nicely presented well thought out piece of software, and for anyone who likes audio books it looks pretty good to me
Great program for audiobooks, especially those in foreign languages or those attempting to teach foreign languages.
And that answers lostinlodos's question above as to why it even offers speed changing -- it does help to sometimes slow down the audio if you're attempting to learn a new language. This is also mentioned in the website description, too.
I love Angel's Vox. It hasn't been offered in a long time but the BEST thing about it is the SPEED changer in the playback. I know that Winamp does it as do a few others, but Angel's VOX does it, at least to my ears, the best. It does not come out choppy and blocky but still real sounding. I like this software and am glad to have it again. Thanks.
Regarding slowing down: My grandfather had a stroke which took away his ability to read (which, next to cooking, was his favorite hobby) and slowed down his language comprehension. He got books on tape, and would slow them down so he could understand them better. This would have been perfect for him. There are lots of reasons for slowing down audio...

google einmal nach "AudibleMediaPlayerFilter" und schau nach "Converting Audible (.aa) Files". Diese Anleitung für AAX zu MP3 funktioniert. Benötigt werden: Audible Manager,Goldwave 5.08,lame_v3.99.2 und AudibleMediaPlayerFilter.exe.
So bekommt man aus einem 5 Stunden Hörbuch eine ca 500 MB große MP3 Datei.

Ja, ja, ja - jetzt sitzt man vorm Desktop und bekommt Hörbücher in doppelter Geschwindigkeit vorgelesen und wenn du Verständigungsschwierigkeiten bekommst, drückst du einfach die Sleep-Taste. Ich gehe erstmal in eine Bibliothek. Super,DANKE!

Das Programm wäre nicht schlecht, wenn man damit Audible-Hörbücher abspielen könnte (die mit dem .AAX-Format). Das originale Audible-Player Origramm ist mir viel zu rudimentär. Geht das - oder womit kann man AAX-Dateien passend umwandeln?

Die Originaldatei hat eine Größe von 3,1 MB - wieso eigentlich einen FS mit 12,2 MB herunter laden? Andererseits könnte ich endlich meine ganzen Audiobücher hören. Wenn du die Abspielgeschwindigkeit erhöhst, kommen dir manche Hörbücher auch nicht mehr so langweilig vor. Daumen hoch - super Idee - vielen Dank!
