This brilliant bit of software will only be usable til the end of this year because when Adobe Flash Player dies at the end of this year, it will no longer work and the creators, very sadly, have not as yet come up with an HTML5 alternative and, it seems, have no plans to create one.
At first glance, an excellent animation program (just do not often need to open the main program window, because the memory of 7000 kilobytes grows to 100000 kilobytes)
Second *** This brilliant bit of software will only be usable til the end of this year because when Adobe Flash Player dies at the end of this year, it will no longer work and the creators, very sadly, have not as yet come up with an HTML5 alternative and, it seems, have no plans to create one. ***
Flash will exist, as there are millions of sites that are made on Flash, and there is no way to update.
Thirdly, if I was a programmer, then the subsequent new versions of browsers in ANY case supported Flash, as I respect my users.
At the bottom of the window it displays where it is getting its weather data from and in my case a United KIngdom (England) location it calims Forcast is from MET Norway! It reckons the temperature is 13C and is raining and that is it! no wind direction or velocity, no humidity, nothing like the screenshots above the description! No forcast, just a broken current cast!
The fact it is an Adobe FLash based application will likely be problematic in the not too distant future as best practice will be to remove system wide adobe flash installation once adobe ceases support and declairs it end of life. It will not be "safe" to just disable FLASH within all browser instances as other programs can expose the system when they use the system wide flash engine like this could.
TK, correction yes it defaults to MET Norway but the incorrect display was due to it not being properly installed by me... the data produced by this was not as accurate as accuweather for example.
It can also work with OWM Open Weather Map
https://openweathermap.org/#/
The program does have a bug in that it lets you try and select dates in the past and if you do it ends up in a loop of trying to get historical data from OWM and failing to. Switching back to Live mode resolves the loop but it should not let the end user confuse it like that if the historical data is not possible to retrieve!
this will not give accurate weather for New Zealand Dunedin
Regarding the weather, just look out of the your window instead of looking into Windows-PC ;-)
