WowTron PDF Encryption hilft euch beim Verschlüsseln von Adobe PDF-Dokumenten. Es bietet euch eine einfache Möglichkeit, PDF-Dateien Passwörter hinzuzufügen, um unautorisierten Zugang zu verhindern. So könnt ihr sicherstellen, dass eure Dateien nicht ausgedruckt, bearbeitet, kopiert und allgemein verändert werden können. Kein Adobe Acrobat oder weiter Adobe-Software benötigt.
Es gibt zwei Arten von PDF-Passwörtern: Besitzer und Benutzer-Passwörter, wobei die erste Art eure Dateien vor Ausdrucken, Kopieren, Bearbeiten usw. schützt und Benutzer-Passwörter lediglich das Öffnen einer Datei verhindern können.

You can do most simple pdf file operations via free online services, but encrypting a pdf file is one that you should not do online, since you have to upload the unencrypted file and then you can't control where it ends up. That makes this simple utility potentially useful. But the same security concern means that you have to trust the program doing the encryption. Is Wowtron trustworth? Who knows? - they're one of those anonymous software developers with no identifying details in their "About Us". That's not uncommon, but it doesn't address the higher level of security concern with a program designed to encrypt sensitive documents on your computer.

The original WowTron version was installed without any problems. The GOTD version was impossible to install.
