"a time-limited offer" time limitation referes to the offer? (Download and installtion is limited for today). Or does it means that after installation the license is limited to a period of time? (An extended trial version).
I would appreciate very much if GAOTD, would clearly advertise if it is a lifetime giveaway or an extended trial, so anyone will know before downlowed and installation.

Chasm, why do I have to go to the registration page in order to see a simple and important fact. Why not advertise it clearly?
That was exactly the point I was making

Rip DVDs to 4K UHD/HD videos.
Are you kidding me? The technical details of DVD is MPEG-2.
That's a max of 720 × 576 pixels, at a display rate of 25 frames per second, interlaced (commonly used in regions with 50 Hz image scanning frequency)

You cannot add data and meta to the RIP, so how do you imply you can then convert it to 4K UHD?

What a bogus claim, totally fabricated to swindle unsavvy customers.
I understand the software is probably Chinese as it has no respect for copyright law, and has been designed specifically to circumvent it. As for the use of "legal" backups. Unless you still own the original, it is indeed illegal.
In the age of cheap and cheerful streaming services, DVD copy's have come and gone.

The software that springs to mind when comparing todays is AnyDVD HD.
There's another scam, and piece of software specifically designed to circumvent DRM.

And everybody wonders why the film and music industries are in decline.

Just FWIW...

Richard is correct -- DVD Spec uses a video frame 720 x 480 [NTSC] & 720 X 576 [PAL] for both 4:3 & 16:9 aspect ratios. That frame size is not the same size as the picture, which was/is designed to be compatible with analog TVs. Those TVs were designed for a interlaced broadcast signal, meaning 1/2 of the lines, top to bottom, were refreshed at a time [the phosphor in the CRT would continue to glow in the lines that were not refreshed], so the picture was updated at twice the frame rate. Movies OTOH were shot at 24 fps, and since there was no tech to create missing frames, or to make non-interlaced video interlaced [because there was motion recorded between the even & odd line refresh], they used flags in the mpg2 video file specifying which frames to show more than once.

Despite all of that, DVD video can look OK on a 1080p TV -- not great but OK -- though the player or TV will usually do as good a job enlarging the video to FHD or 4k, if not better, than resizing the video in software. Tipard isn't exaggerating when they say their DVD Ripper can resize DVD video all the way up to 4k, but there's simply not enough data to interpolate for that big of an increase, so whether it's enlarged in software or electronics, most people are not going to be happy with the quality. Tipard is pushing it however when they mention UHD, though I think they're relying on the somewhat fuzzy nature of the term when it was 1st talked about. Today data for extended color & dynamic ranges is usually added using Dolby or HDR10 tech to deliver *HDR* TV. Yes, it's confusing.

I'll leave the legal debate & discussion to others, though I do find it interesting that court cases re: Blu-ray copy revolved around reverse engineering & use of the DRM tech rather than (C) of the content. I will say that in the case of AnyDVD HD & similar, when it comes to Blu-ray discs, their DRM can make watching their content as intended impossible, so at least in some cases it's not a matter of stealing (C) content, but the only practical means of watching it. [You usually can't read reviews of Blu-ray players without seeing complaints of some movies stalling etc. -- that's their DRM]

.
[ Richard Sebire ], no, copying anything ( regardless of source ) for personal use -- "timeshifting" -- is legal, see the Sony Betamax case in the US Supreme Court, legally treaty-respected by all Berne copyright nations.

And no, digital copies of artistic presentations are a bonus avenue of income for artists, not a reason to consider artistic rewards in decline, considering that Sony lead the field in copying AND Sony leads the field in publishing.

Please update your propaganda.
__________

Thanks for the supposed information on "DVD" limits of MPEG-2 720 x 576 25 fpi 50 Hz, I'll check some disks to see if any of the publishers of the DVDs that I have access to respect that limit.
