PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GAOTD TEAM!!
As I already said 1.000.000.000 of times this is a SUPER SATURATED field nowadays with tons of FREEWARE ALTERNATIVES out there as good as or even better than GAOTDs like this.
Please, GAOTD team, although I appreciate very much your service, would you mind giving us different products than REGISTRY CLEANERS and/or VIDEO CONVERTERS, which are instead offered here at least twice a week?
Please don't get me wrong....even the HD Defragmenting field is pretty much saturated nowadays, but if you offer for FREE an award-winning and outstanding product like "Auslogics Disk Defrag PRO", as you did a few days ago, everybody here is happy for that because any FREEWARE alternative out there can ever compete with its advanced features offered to its users.
For instance, today's offer is a pretty good app which does what it claims without any hassle, but what's the point of installing it if you cannot update it to future enhanced version (unless you pay an extra charge for it of course) and above all if you can do the same things for FREE with award-winning FREEWARE like these ones?

This software sector is so saturated with freeware registry cleaners / washers / optimizers that even trying to sell one as a stand-alone is optimism redefined. But today's developer is in a class of its own: to seriously expect anyone to install it today and in the event of a re-install have to fork out $29.95. . . and then have to pay AGAIN because the product is licensed only for 12-months is sheer witlessness.
I wouldn't normally comment on a GAOTD offer that I'm not going to try but in this case an exception is justified because not only is there no reason for the one year license limitation, there is nothing in the product's feature list to differentiate it from existing and constantly updatable freeware from long established providers of proven reputation.
Yes, the developer's website makes much play of this "award winning" product -- though inexplicably fails to mention just what, er, awards have been received -- and, true, it would appear to do more than merely 'wash'.
But feature-for-feature, Registry Washer offers nothing that Bill Pytlovany's wonderful WinPatrol doesn't do:
http://www.winpatrol.com/
when teamed up with Piriform's classic CCleaner:
http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
(Use CCleaner for general cleaning and, if you think you're up to messing around with your computer's registry, then click on the 'Registry' icon in the program: it's just about the least aggressive out there in terms of system safety. For everything else, including real-time system monitoring and reporting, use WinPatrol.)
Sorry, GAOTD, but this current trend amongst some developers of trying to get away with selling software valid for a mere 12-months is getting out of hand. The only way for consumers to send out a message that they ain't fools is not to play along -- which is why I, for one, am not wasting my time on even downloading today's so-called award-winning product. Grrrrrr.
Having run a scan, I looked a little closer at the results and noticed some of the files identified as not existing. However a quick check with Explorer showed them just where the path indicated that they would be.
Upon closer examination I found that the identified missing file often had switches included in the registry entry such as "path name/uninstall.exe -F" upon checking for the claimed missing file it seems that registry washer is not managing to recognise the switches and is suggesting deletion of a valid instruction.
Not at all good so uninstalling now.

Wow its Groundhog Day again ! ("Und täglich grüsst das Murmeltier"... german title...)
Thats what i thought when i have seen this giveaway the first moment.. well next thing i do usually is to visit the makers homepage to see more info about it.
I can totally understand if some say "noo not another one of those.... yadayadayada...."
BUT
something got my attention this time. On past giveaway comments we already discussed the pros and cons about registry cleaners. Some totally panic like "touching the registry is evil..." and others say "it can be useful if you know what you do". I am with the second on that.
One advice in the comments was sayin, "if you know what to do then do it by hand editing the registry.." that way you stay away from uncontrolled registry mess and only get what you want.
And yes, i can only agree to that as well.
Now here comes my point:
Hand editing the registry can be very tiring with the windows regedit inbuilt search. I always wondered, why cant search results be displayed in a convenient list to easy see whats found and then decide..
Registry washer claims to have exactly that function ! And even more, it has a realtime registry access monitor ! Finally a tool that can help us to "clearly see" whats happening in the background while a software acts, in realtime!
Those two features alone are reason enough for me to give this program a try.
How good it will be with the automated scanning and error detection... well, we will see.... In the past i trusted only 3 different programs on that.. (CCleaner, ERunt, and Comodo System Utilities) All three very reliable and free (!) programs.
(If you know what you do... LOL)
Ok i will get back and write hereafter i tested that to let you know if it worked.
Thats all for now...

Yet another registry cleaner boasting awards without providing links to their corresponding reviews. And yet again the five tucows award can not be found on the tucows website itself. Oh yea, there's a 'Registry Washer' on tucows but it's version 3.5.1 and it's not by this company.
Very dissapointed. I'm not going to trust my machine to a company with such dubious marketing strategies. Sadly enough, there are still a lot of people who fall for these kind of false claims.
Thanks anyway GOTD.
