Was habt ihr denn in euer Setup-Programm gepackt?

Heute satte 100% off.

I always thought a "watermark" is something that is supposed to be INVISIBLE unless you took extra trouble to look for it.

For example: Most blank paper you buy for your copier or printer has a watermark showing the manufacturer - it is invisible unless you hold the light just so. That's why they call it a "watermark" - the item was printed with clear water and has no visible image unless you reflect the light a certain way to see that it was once wet and then you see the mark pattern.

IMPORTANT POINT:
It was intended to not deface the product - only identity it.

The "watermarks" that are always offered here just VANDALIZE the photo. So it is not a problem for a defacing watermark to need to re-encode a photo, as the watermarked version is a "proof" or sample; and you contact the owner to licence the full resolution version. So the disfiguring watermark software offered here that produces inferior copies of the original are no problem. The photos they make are of no use anyway. The tarnished images would not be used; as anyone encountering such a blemished photo would move on to another with more appeal. It is the same as showing your portfolio to a client with everything covered in catsup stains and dirty fingerprints!

It is as if you ravaged your work with graffiti.

What I always considered a true watermark is one where the photo looks untouched by ugly text or scribblings. The photo LOOKS normal. If you found your photo used without permission you could prove it was yours by the "watermark" that was a DRM signature invisibly encoded into the image. A plug-in to most photo viewers could detect it, but your eyes would not see that it was marked. Best of both worlds!

To its credit, todays "Photo Watermark 6.3" does allow transparent markings, but most of the use implied is to edit photos with run-of-the-mill text, logo and funny borders. Get an image editor for that. A watermark should be invisible so it can't be seen unless you're looking for it.

How about a batch watermark detector? This would scan your photos for any DRM markings (true watermarks) that original creators marked their images with and you could use the scan to get the photos you need to use licenced as the DRM scanner could identify the contact for you.

There are any number of programs to REMOVE visible "watermarks" and date stamps, so why even bother with visible "watermark" software that defaces the image? You can get people to properly enjoy the images and still be protected without those "graffiti" makers!

A photo tells a story. Only a fool would rip out the pages.

Let's see some true watermark software (One where you detect the "watermark" with a function of your viewer software) that does not ruin the impact of an image.

Excellent software today!!

Can add text, image and logos to your igital images in batch mode with no hassle.

Almost all formats out there are supported, including animeted GIF files.

Honestly we can ask more than that!

Of course, there are many software out there able to remove watermarks from photos, but how many people know how to do that?

THUMBS UP from me!!

Installed and registered without problems on a Win 8.1 Pro 64 Bit system.

A company without name and address, but phone&fax.

A small not resizable window opens. You select your files, write a watermark text, you can add copyright symbols, change every font definition, define an opacity and "stamp" your photo or the batch.

Instead of text, you can use a picture. And yes, the old frame is back. Remember, when you put your photos in frames? Some ten years ago? The frame options are childish and insufficient. Better to focus only on the watermark. And better to put the programming efforts in a resizable window and not in small scale framing.

The sample picture library for watermark images is everything but professional looking.

Due to the non resizable window it is nearly impossible to see the results of the watermark process. The output is per default in a different folder, so there is no risk in overwriting the existing photos. If you are in the "output" task, there is no way back to change things. You have the option "run" and that's it. Not the way, it should be programmed. After the "run", you have to click on (x) exit to return to the start window.

You can add a so called "invisible" watermark, this is a text field in the image description of the EXIF data. But you cannot add data to the IPTC fields, where it belongs. That's bad...

A simple to use and good watermark program. I do not understand, why they didn't made the windows resizable at least in version 2.0

For version 6.3 a rather unfinished program.

Uninstalled via reboot.

Must admit #3 John’s comment really got me thinking of a better way to “watermark” your images without destroying the visual impact.
Made me wonder if stenography would be another way of doing it and decided to look in Google just to see what was available, and there was no shortage.
The following links are for anyone interested in this way of watermarking:-
