I am very sorry but this piece of software is absolutely useless. In text mode the output file is bigger than the input file even if you set up the slider to smallest size /poorest quality/. It is not worth a penny!

Today installed in Win8.1 without any trouble.
The first compression went fine:

A very small difference between the original and compressed file(seen when switching between the two files):

Too few options means that colour pdf with photos - even at 90% setting - come out with an unacceptable quality.
Just performed a quick test and the results were not impressive.
A4 size B&W drawing scanned at 400 dpi.
Original filesize: 116,900
PDF Compressor filesize: 1,679,888 - 14 times bigger!
pdfcompressor.com website: 31,363 - 73% smaller
All files look good - differences in file quality are negligible, even when zooming in.
Perhaps PDF Compressor Pro is good for some kinds of PDFs, but definitely not this one. For now I'll stick with free online compression.
I have used this several times in the past and it simply does not do what they say it can. Quite often the 'compressed' file is actually the same or larger and the quality is very bad, but they want for $29.95 for it!
I find "Free PDF Compressor" from freepdfcompressor.com does a much better job - and umm.... for free.

Es ist doch wohl logisch, daß ein textlastiger PDF-File programmtechnisch wesentlich kleiner ist, als wenn man die gleiche(n) Seite(n) als Bilder ablegt, in dem jedes Pixel - auch wenn es nur weiß ist - programmiert in der Datei Platz einnimmt!
