Well, at first I thought: woh, finally a very useful app which cannot be replaced easily with FREE alternatives....but it's NOT!
Why? Because for mysterious reasons it doesn't support ZIP files encrypted with AES-256 algorithm, which is the most common chiper used to protect ZIP & PDF files.
So in my view this app is pretty much USELESS and damn expensive, taking into account the limited use it offers to its users.
THUMBS DOWN from me!!
BEST (and BETTER) FREE ALTERNATIVES (just pay attention while installing them, since most of them are Ad supported with bundled crapware!)

My 2 cents for today's giveaway!!
Used this before.
I have a file I rar'ed and password protected as what I call
a vault for private text and word files.
Just in case the feds come er snooping.
Seriously, no bad stuff.
I protected it with just letters and numbers, 16 in length.
I ran the program list here for 5 months solid day-and-night.
Still didn't find the password.
However if you uses short passwords, maybe 5 or 6 characters long,
then maybe it will work.
I am trying the give away today and will run it for 6 months.

The only time I managed to find the password of a zip file was when I knew the contents of one of the files. The program I use would take the encrypted file and the un-encrypted file and calculate the three encryption keys.
It would also estimate the length of time to crack a password depending upon its length, computers were slower then and single core, however if memory serves me correctly a 16 digit password using the maximum range of characters would take thousands of years!
I do not believe it is in business any more nor are many of the others of a similar type, they failed because computers are not powerful enough for anything but a simple password.

Mache Programme die Passwörter auslesen, schicken das Ergebnis mit den Passwörter(auch die der installierten Programme)ins Web.Vorsicht ist hier wichtig.Am besten ohne Internetzugang das Programmm ausführen.
Wer eine gute Firewall hat die den Ausgang kontrolliert ist hier auf der sicheren Seite.

Absolut lächerliches Programm!!! Ein PW wie "g:PDF&cp66-B" würde erst in 174 Jahren geknackt werden, allerdings nur bei einer Rate von 100 Milliarden Versuchen pro sec. und nicht bei 30 Versuchen pro sec. wie dieses Krylak hier. Siehe: https://www.grc.com/haystack.htm

Probiere es gerade aus mit einer 350MB-RAR Datei. Obwohl ich ein 64Bit-Betriebsystem und Quadcore habe, arbeitet es laut Taskmanager nur mit einem Kern in einer 32-Bit-Version; ob es etwas von den zur verfügung stehenden 8GB RAM nützt konnte ich leider nicht ersehen.
Aber an dem Schneckentempo, mit dem die Software arbeitet, braucht es wahrscheinlich selbst mit sog. "Lislchen Müller-Passwörtern" ewig.
Wenn ich mir den PCWelt-Artikel (http://www.pcwelt.de/ratgeber/So-lange-dauert-das-Passwort-Knacken-172195.html) ansehe, könnte alles bei entsprechender Programmierung auch schneller gehen, wenn diese Software wenigstens in der Lage wäre, die mikrigen Hardware-vorgaben voll auszunützen, die unsereins zur Verfügung stellen kann.
Zusammengefasst: dieses Progrämmchen ist besser als nichts, aber viel mehr auch nicht.

Vielen Dank GOTD, das Tool kam gerade richtig. Ich hatte 2 Archive verschlüsselt und das Passwort war mir nicht mehr geläufig. Jetzt sind sie wieder frei zugänglich, das Tool arbeitet einwandfrei.
So und jetzt warte ich nur noch auf den Troll mit 20 verschiedenen Nicks, der hier wieder seine unterirdische Intelligenz zum besten gibt.

Wieder einmal total unbrauchbarer Vollschrott! Das Programm ist sooooo langsam, da dauert es doch Jahre ein Passwort zu entschlüssen (arbeitet in 10 Minuten gerade mal 50 Möglichkeiten ab - bei Millionen Möglichkeiten kann man sich den Rest selbst ausrechnen). Ab ins Klo und kräftigst die Spülung ziehen. Denn es gibt KEIN brauchbares Programm, welches RAR-Passwörter in einer vernünftigen Zeitspanne knacken kann (ausser das Passwort ist nur "minikurz"). Jede Firma, welche solche Tools verscherbelt gehört wegen Betrugs sofort der Prozess gemacht. Abzocke pur!

habe testweise ein AES encrypted zip -file erstellt, kann das tool nicht verarbeiten. => unbrauchbar.

Hab mir mit 7zip eine verschlüsselte Zip-Datei erstellt. Das Programm meldet einen Fehler und kommt nicht mal mit AES-Verschlüsselten Dateien zurecht. Ein Passwortknacker der beim Laden einer Datei schon scheitert...da gibts von mir heute mal einen Daumen nach unten.
