Installed and registered without problems on a Win 8.1.3 Pro 64 bit system. So many changes in the registry???

Something different. Not the video converters or lost file recovery programs. The software is some years old, it was programmed around 2008. A few files are of newer date. In the interface nothing changed since a lot of years...

The claim: " Easily create song with multiple instruments (guitar, bass, drums, etc), even if you don’t know music theory. " is a little bit optimistic. Even for the simple setup you need more than a basic knowledge.
A first impression : a more than complete music studio...
If you ever had played a little tune - you will like it.
I'll keep it - the so called free keyboard piano's programs are a joke. This is a serious one. Be sure to have a look into the tutorial videos.

Regarding the changes in the Registry, the ones made by KB Piano are:
HK_CurrentUser\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\KB Piano // (Program settings)
HK_ClassesRoot\kbpiano2.KBP // (KB Piano files association)
HK_LocalMachine\Software\KB Piano // (Stores installation path and version number for updates)
I don't know what the others are... Maybe a firewall, o some OS settings.

A little history, the software started real simple... Then users got more creative and started to ask for more advanced functions. That's how audio channels, vst instruments and such were added.
Now what you get is an application that is between a basic piano and an advanced production software. Cheers !
I have very little knowledge on the technical aspects of music creation or playing any musical instruments . But I love to play with all this virtual instruments and once I tried to learn to play virtual piano from a friend and at that time I came to know about some of the programs all of them were quiet attractive and efficient. 'A73 Piano Station' ( http://www.micronissimo.com/ ) , these all are freeware , but I am also well familiar with today's Gotd 'KB PIANO' by Gabriel Fernandez. Its really a kind of program you can consider If you want to emulate Piano on Your Computer. Enriched with various instrument sounds and equipped with detailed help file and tutorials.

But there is free ZynAddSubFX for Windows, Linux and Mac which comes completely with a dozen of sound banks with up to 128 instruments each (!!!), e.g. Arpeggio, Strings, Organs (church organs, too) etc. To choose a bank please hit the broad empty button below "No Effect".
There are a lot of parameters (e.g. up to 16 sound combinations) and effects like echo. It comes with a six octaves virtual keyboard (VK) for mouse use. To get VK hit VK button between "Panic" and "No Effect". Or you use your computer keyboard (zxcvbnm,.- etc). Perhaps you have to hit VK once to get sounds there. There are a lot of options like European keyboard layouts with y and z interchanged. MIDI standard etc.
With Linux you can run latest versions as standalone,
same for an older Windows version (ZynAddSubFX-2.2.0Setup.exe from 2005) which still is very good.
Latest available Windows version runs as VST plugin with many pro softwares.
I'm using since about one year very often Linux version and sometimes ZynAddSubFX Windows VST build (ZynAddSubFX-VDX_VST-2.4.1.496beta) with free VST host Minihost (some nagging seconds before starting). It has an additional keyboard with 1 octave less than VK.

Wollte mal 2 Dinge hier loswerden.
Ok wir bekommen gern alle mal etwas geschenkt. ...denke mal das ist wohl der Hauptgrund für den Besuch auf GAOTD.
Die Idee ein Programm nur für eine begrenzte Zeit installierbar zu machen ist zwar technisch etwas unbequem, denn eine Installation geht "unter Umständen" auch mal verloren wenn ein Notfall dazu zwingt das Sytem neu aufzusetzen. Aber dafür hats denn eben nix gekostet...
Um diesen Umstand wesentlich erträglicher zu machen empfehle ich daher folgende Methode.
Abgesehen von diversen kommerziellen Programmlösungen, gibt es auch eine sehr gut funktionierende Lösung hier:

Das Programm erzeugt eine "bitgenaue" 1:1 Kopie einer beliebigen Festplattenpartition. Damit also auch eine perfekte Kopie des zur Zeit aktiven Systems.
Sicher man braucht dafür einiges an freiem Speicherplatz irgendwo auf der Platte...
Die Vorteile sind unschlagbar ! Alles (!) ist immer (!) wieder voll funktionsfähig zurückholbar!
Also auch unsere geliebten GAOTD installationen !
Wer regelmässig (ggf. nach jeder "wichtigen" Programm Installation)
eine Image Kopie seiner Systemplatte damit ablegt, hat nie ein Problem.
Ist schon deswegen genial, weil alle persönlichen Systemmodifikationen und Neuinstallationen bei einer "Rettung" enorm viel Zeit kosten !
Mit einem "Disk-Image" in wenigen Minuten erledigt.
Ja die GAOTD downloads sind sehr oft doppelt so gross wie nötig ! Aber jeden verd.... Tag, immer wieder über diese Tatsache meckern.... LAAANGWEILIG !!
Leute so funktionierts bei GAOTD nun mal (wegen dem Wrapper der nu mal seinen Platz braucht) , und alle wissen es... lebt damit oder verzichtet auf GAOTD...
SO EINFACH ! PUNKT !

Hmm das mit den VST plugins die immer pauschal vorgeladen werden... ja da sollte sich der Programmautor nochmal Gedanken drüber machen...
Das eine Software, die ein Klavier auf einer Computertastatur nachbildet, keine professionellen Ansprüche an ein Musikinstrument erfüllt werden können, ist wohl nur offensichtlich und liegt in der "Natur" der Sache... für mich kein beanstandenswerter "Fehler"...
Das Programm so gesehen wie es ist, ist wirklich eine nette Spielerei.
An viele hilfreiche und leistungsverbessernde Features wurde gedacht.
Und es funktioniert !

Das tool läuft natürlich nicht unter Windows 7 oder 8 64 Bit. Es ist eigentlich für win 3.1 gedacht - eine richtige Antiquität, wie alles was du hier angebiedert bekommst. Herzlichen Dank!

Nie mehr etwas von Giveaway of the day! Damit meine ich nicht die angebotenen Programme, unter denen ab und zu wirklich mal etwas Interessantes ist. Die kann man aber alle vergessen, wenn man einmal sein Windows neu aufsetzen muss, wie ich gerade. Danach läuft keines der über GOTD bezogenen Programme mehr. Denn man hat nicht die Möglichkeit, sie neu zu installieren und die dazu gehörenden Lizensierungen einzugeben.

Bereits zu DOS-Zeiten habe ich mich gefreut, die unhandlichen Flipper-Geräte durch PC-Programme austauschen zu können.
Jetzt kann ich endlich meinen Steinway-Flügel entsorgen und meinen geliebten Chopin auf der PC-Tastatur genießen ...

wäre im prinzip sicher brauchbar, es versucht aber zum programmstart ungefragt bereits ALLE VST-intrumente abzurufen...an meinem PC ein problem, denn ich habe da zu umfangreiche instrumente und plugins.(über 40GB, 300000 dateien in 20000 ordnern) dieses programm leistet das nicht und hängt sich einfach auf.
wäre besser, gleich zu beginn nur programminternes instrument zu laden und benutzer die auswahl zu überlassen.
...so leider (sicher für viele die derartige programme verwenden) unbrauchbar, schade.
trotzdem danke für das gratisangebot, wer z.b. NUR z.b. fruityloops installiert hat käme in den genuss auch ohne miditastatur am laptop zu klimpern.
