I most always prefer a portable version of a program, if available.
For anyone interested, I went to their site and downloaded the portable version, also downloaded from here to get the readme file code and that activated the Pro 3.5.0 Portable version.
For the record, I am using Win10 Home x 64. UI looks good, no need to actually try it today but a good tool to have on hand.
Thanks IM-Magic! Since it is not stated, am I correct in assuming this is a lifetime license with no updates?
Thanks to GOTD team also. Lately many of the offerings have been including the license length with some even including the type, with or without updates, etc. I am still holding out hope that one day it will be made a required field in the 'blue stats box'. ;-)
I like that the registration data is in the readme file. No hoops to jump through. There does not seem to be a time limitation. Something else to like. However from the images above, I don't care for the Facebook plug at the top of the program. Is that really needed?
Peter Blaise, Facebook viewable by SOME users, many keep well away from it.
Why is this better that free programs like Minitool Partitiion Wizard, Aomei Partition Assistant, Easeus Partition Manager, etc.?
Oreguy,
"Why is this better...?"
Good question, and one that IM-Magic *Really should* answer on their web site. The 3 alternatives you mention all have somewhat detailed comparisons between their different versions, i.e. free vs. paid, and those give you a good, basic idea of what they're capable of. The IM-Magic Partition Resizer Pro web site has very little hard data in comparison -- ideally they'll take notice & fix that.
Otherwise, considering most people rarely use partitioning software, there's little or no reason for them to install it, & then next time they need something like this, try it instead of one of the many other partitioning apps out there.
"press 'Activate' to register the software" Exactly where is this located? It seems to have installed without any such 'Activate' button available. I'm just seeking clarification.
David, maybe this will help:

Josi,
oben in "Aktivate"
falls du das Programm früher schon einmal installiert hast, gilt anscheinend der alte Key, welcher in der Registry gefunden wurde.

Country is Germany. I downloaded, installed, activated with the activation key given. Unfortunately, drives do not show or apear even after clicking "reload discs" - dissapointing.
