I'm through with GOTD. I've been visiting off and on since the beginning and I learned a long time ago that both the ratings system and comments are a joke. But now it's become a dishonest joke. I've noticed much more often recently that the rating system is manipulated to a ridiculous extent. (It's always the case with Aieesoft giveaways.) And the comments are often loaded with fake posts praising the offer. It's been called to the attention of the moderators on many occasions and ignored. They'll suppress comments that don't serve their purpose but turn a blind eye to blatant shilling and lying. I doubt I'll miss the site. I know where to find freeware, and that was the only positive thing this site offered: freeware suggestions. The giveaways were very rarely worth the download. If they had been there would be no need for GOTD and their customers to lie and try to trick people into using them.
I highly doubt this will pass moderation, but it felt nice just to vent.

Mindlessly produced nonsense, if you ask me. Also: if you use this program "over the years with nothing but satisfaction" -how many times a year do you crash your hard disk(s)?

Ein Vorgänger dieses Programms tut auf meinem Rechner seinen Dienst. Das hat natürlich alle Funktionen.
Allerdings dürfte für die meisten User diese abgespeckte Version reichen.
Mein Urteil: "Ein Spitzenprogramm, welches mir und einigen Bekannten schon sehr geholfen hat." Sogar nach dem Sturz au großer Höhe einer tragbaren HDD habe ich alle Daten retten können. Nach dem Hitzetot einer anderen FP habe ich noch eine Menge Daten retten können. U.s.w..
Das Meckern einiger Personen kann ich also nicht nachvollziehen.
Wer allerdings regelmäßig seine Daten sichert, braucht das Tool nicht.

Lachmichxyz hat mal wieder keine Ahnung. Recuva und Konsorten sind
gratis, aber taugen wenig. iCare Date Recovery ist ein exzellentes
Tool, das einem sehr viele Daten wiederherstellen kann. Leider
ist das heute nur ein Teil der Data Recovery Suite, nämlich die Format Recovery. Trotzdem super Teil!

Das Programm ist das einzige von vielen getesteten, welches mir bei einem defekten USB-Stick (vermutl. def. Controller) zumindest wieder einige Dateien herbeizaubern konnte. Alle anderen Programme finden nichts mehr auf dem Stick. Zumindest dafür 1+.

Kaufen würde ich es nicht, zu dem angegebenen Preis gleich 3X nicht, aber ich habe eine ältere Version, und sie gefällt mir. Die Bedienung ist simpel und intuitiv, und auch Rohdaten lassen sich -wenn auch bei großen Dateien wie Filmen nicht immer- meistens wieder herstellen. Für umsonst empfehlenswert.

Also ich hatte schon den Fall, wo die kostenlosen Tools wie Recuva, File Recovery etc. versagt haben. Mit RAW kommen die nämlich nicht klar!
Der Nachteil am heutigen Giveaway ist schlicht der, das man solch ein Tool nur vielleicht mal für irgendwann braucht. Niemand installiert sich sowas auf Vorrat für den Fall, dass mal mit 1 Prozent Chance in einem Jahr was passieren könnte.

Gibt TestDisk, gibt Recuva, alles kostenlose Alternativen die wunderbar funktionieren. (Preis von fast 70$ ein echter Witz obendrein).

Wenn der Datenträger mit Quickformat formatiert wurde ist eine Wiederherstellung der Daten wahrscheinlich. Bei richtigem Bit für Bit Formatieren halte ich es aber eher für unwahrscheinlich dass noch irgendetwas lesbares dabei herauskommt. Hat das schon mal jemand ausprobiert?

„Es gibt nichts Neues unter der Sonne“, stellt das alttestamentliche Buch Kohelet enttäuscht fest. Das kann ich angesichts dieses Programmes - wie oft gab es eigentlich solche hier schon? - nur bestätigen.
Und, auch wenn`s abgedroschen klingt: Freeware, wie Recuva oder das mächtige Testdisk, welches ganze Partitionen wiederherstellen kann, haben mir immer geholfen.
Ach, und wenn die "Festplatte von Viren befallen wurde", würde ich diese Daten nicht unbedingt wiedeherstellen wollen.
