This was given away as a 6 month trial of version 2.0.0.824 in 2022 https://www.giveawayoftheday.com/geekersoft-pdf-editor/ it had similar problems then, the installer will not execute under any version of windows prior to Windows 7 (NT6.1) it certainly will not install under XP! The executable GeekerPDF.exe inside the inno installer is built to require Vista (NT6.0) to be loaded and if one extracts the setup.exe using an up to date copy of inno extractor one can run the program under Vista just fine and apply the giveaway license code from the readme.txt file. They have resolved the problems with ransomware protection blocking installation and the hijacking of the pdf reader association that the previous giveaway had... so that is good. On activation a pop-up window arises that states the expiry date is 2025-08-15 which is one year inclusive so not from code generation date but code activation date. which is better than most "annual" pre-generated code giveaways which are often weeks short of a year!
Note the date formatting does not follow the windows systems own date formatting... the GUI is very much their own but they have added an About dialog to the gear wheel settings menu none of which existed before which has the option to set default viewer association... The create PDF option only seems to allow raster PDF creation from raster images like JPG/TIF/GIF/PNG etc NOT DOCX/DOC/XLS/XLSX/ODF and so on, but one can create a blank PDF document, don't forget to set the correct page size as it defaults to "Letter" size and you may prefer something different like A4 if you are not in USA. Once the blank document is created and opened in the editor you can add and remove pages. Maybe it's me but he taskbar icon and executables icon are very reminiscent of an historical Linux distro's penguin icon which could cause some confusion.
On their page https://links.giveawayoftheday.com/s/geekersoft.com/geekersoft-pdf-editor.html under can I get a refund? there is link that states "refund policy" BUT it links to https://www.geekersoft.com/privacy-policy.html NOT the refund policy https://www.geekersoft.com/refund-policy.html so some alpha testing of the website is still required. The program has improved over the years/versions but problems do remain. Activation is painless so although I am opposed to expiring giveaways and feel where the license option for a non-expiring license but no free updates is available it should be offered, this could be worth installing if you want a basic PDF file editor and have no other viable option available.

TK, found a bug, while in the editor left clicking on the "+" button to open a new tab and selecting "Create blank document" does nothing, the operation/action on the object is not populated with the action to perform. Also found the link to an offline OCR tool on the Free Online OCR tool is broken and end up on a 404.html error page it has the wrong installer https://www.geekersoft.com/res/download/GeekerPDF_Installer.exe should be https://download.geekersoft.com/res/download/GeekerPDF_Setup.exe the trial of this program. I understand getting decent alpha/beta testers can be difficult for small businesses and hope these comments can help improve the product.
