This is a nasty, nasty application whose installer tries to change Internet Explorer's Start page, which uses its own routine for registering DLL's, which fails on my Vista system with DEP enabled. I thought about registering the DLL's it installed myself, but there are so many, I didn't want to waste my time figuring out which ones it needs (it clearly doesn't try to register them all). It installs a ridiculously ancient version of the Lame encoder. In fact, all of its DLL's are circa 2003-2005. This is why I hate even bothering to test multimedia apps. Of course, this all goes back to major design flaws (or lack of design) in Windows.
An FYI regarding IE8--it applies Protected Mode on a per-tab basis, which saves you from the prompts and multiple instances of IE7.

This software will try to change your browsers home page to their site.
Why on earth would anyone want a software page as a home page, Nasty.
Not sure what some people above are talking about: this works on Vista Home Premium 32-bit for me. My DEP settings are at default, which are to protect Windows programs/services.
The Good
* Works in a straightforward fashion/easy to understand what to do.
* Supports multiple input images formats.
* You can add background sound/music.
* You can choose from many transitional slide effects.
* You can add subtitles to each image.
* Supports multiple input sound formats for background sound.
* Will rip the sound off a video to use for background sound if you tell it to do so.
* You can output into AVI, MPG/MPEG, WMV and RM video formats.
* You can crop background sound files.
The Bad
* No proper text labels on some program buttons/tabs.
* Cumbersome resize of images.
* During installation it changes the default homepage of Internet Explorer to developer's website.
* There are no slide effects (I am not talking about transitional slide effects).
* You can't drag the subtitles around to place them in a certain location.
* No subtitle effects.
* Program crashes or freezes arbitrarily.
* Does not detect any AVI codecs for me.
* Output video is never exactly the size you specify.
* Sometimes the GUI messes up/does not display properly.
* Does not have the ability to output into a Flash format (SWF/FLV).
Registration and installation
Registration and installation went fine. However, there are two things to note:
* During installation, the program will change your Internet Explorer homepage to the developer's website. Good thing WinPatrol prompted me about it and I blocked it.
* The button that you must press to open the registration window where you must enter your registration information (that you attain from readme.txt) is not well labeled or obvious. It is located in the bottom right corner of the program

@ 10. Johan Eloff: I have installed it in Vista. It does work and run.
@ 9. Steve: I hate that. Luckily I had a nice Anti Spyware installed in my system which detected this and warned me. I blocked the homepage change process.
@ 4. HiLARY: Yup! For me also registration was tricky. It took me 2 minutes to find where to register. For those who are having similar problem. Follow the steps below.
1. Run the program.(Run as Administrator)
2. See a big start Button. The button just right to that button is registration button. It is small and has image of keys. Click it.
3. Enter any user name in usernam box. Put the serial number and click OK. Its done.
Give me some cheers if it was helpful.
this does not even show up at all on their home page and not in their support section either,,if you do click on the link abouve you see it on the page but when you click on it it takes you to dvd express ...sorry can't find no info on this program at all not even in product list really weired..so don't know

Keine Ahnung, warum die Übergangseffekte in einem DVD-Video mit gefühlten 2 Bildern pro Sekunde gerendert werden und daher ruckeln wie im der Computersteinzeit und das Codieren trotzdem eine Ewigkeit dauert... Habs sofort wieder gelöscht (kein Problem dank VirtualBox)
Fazit: Nicht ansatzweise empfehlenswert - lieber warten, bis hier mal wieder was von Wondershare verschenkt wird.
PS: Die Startseite des Internetexplorers wird tatsächlich (einmalig, nicht permanent) geändert !

- Keine Möglichkeit, das Projekt zu speichern, um wieder zu bearbeiten
- Mehrfach Auswählen der Photos, um Übergangseffekte festzulegen nicht möglich
- Keine Synchronisierungsmöglichkeiten zwischen Slide, Übergang und Sound
- Fenstergröße des Programms lässt sich nicht ändern - Bezeichnung mancher Übergangseffekte deshalb abgeschnitten
- Übergangseffekte nicht sauber, wenn man verschiedene einsetzt
- Musik/Sound am Ende des Shows hört einfach auf ohne fade-out wenn zu kurz; wiederholt sich wenn zu lang.
Fazit: Poppelige Software.

Nachtrag: Da die Suchseiteneinstellungen des Browsers auch ungefragt verändert wurden, muß man vor der Installation des Programms wirklich warnen! Hinzu kommt, dass es qualitativ wirklich schlecht ist: höchstens 20% der Übergänge (random/zufällig als Vorgabe) werden sauber dargestellt, ansonsten Gerucke, Vorladen des neuen Bildes bevor anschießend der Übergang einsetzt usw. Ausserdem gibt es keine Möglichkeit, ein Projekt oder Voreinstellungen zu speichern.

bei beiden Programmen heute Fehlermeldung:"Failed to connect, please try again later".
Sonst hat es immer funktioniert, Firewall -Einstellungen habe ich nicht verändert.

Bin gespannt ob auch videoclips in diesem program laufen.
Habe vieles in Power Point, aber kann keine DVD brännen (zum abspielen auf meinem DVD Recorder/abspieler). Fast bilder und die musik kommen klar mit, aber bei videoclips gibts nur ein schwartzes
bild.
