You should NEVER download a third party driver for anything. Any and all driver updates should come directly from the manufacturer. I have had horrible experiences with this in the past downloading corrupt third party drivers and causing a full system restore. Be careful with these along with registry "cleaners".

They are intended to do so. In cases where extended features are presented, ANY hardware vendor will submit their driver to Microsoft for Windows testing and certification. Major changes to Windows will illicit a driver update which will be included in that Windows update, hence the reason for pre-release testing versions. Problems with a previous driver version will also be included in your Windows update once the driver revision has been properly tested. All of this is done in your behalf after thorough testing, and while that testing is going on you are not losing any features or assets of your hardware.

Now throw one wrong driver into the mix and you can pay a dear price in recovery. The choice is yours, but snake oil has a hefty price.

There are several things that irk me about this program:

BEFORE any updates take place, you MUST go into the settings and undo many of the automatic defaults that you probably won't want.

The installers it uses are encrypted in dbz.cfg Dropbox files. You will not be able to independently reinstall them later in the event of a system restore.

You will begin getting nag screens to upgrade to the paid version.

The installer program promises to send "Windows Tweak ebook" if you provide your email. Doesn't happen. You have to bug iObit to have it sent.

Immediately after installation, it offers to upgrade to version 4.2. Does that mean, the program expires as Pro version, if it there's updates during the license period ? In that case, the program is useless!

We had Driver Easy as giveaway, and this version is licenced for 1 year - and it can be updated, off course. Otherwise it gives no meaning to use it to update outdated drivers. Can, IObit, answer, before the users installs an outdated version.....of a driver updater., please...
