Not many people out there know that formatting an HD is NOT the most secure way to remove files and folders from theilr computer, since this process may often leave behind a lot of traces.
So what this GAOTD does is to permanently wipe out any partitions from your PC, making them wholly unrecoverable even by using any professional data recovery software out there.
It can completely erase both the unallocated/free space and system/boot partition, even on virtual hard drive in VMware, Virtual Box and Virtual PC.

BEST FREE ALTERNATIVES
There is a FREE tool called "HDD Low Level Format Tool", which can quickly wipe out both partitions and even MBR data with ease, exactly as this GAOTD.
This FREE GEM is a must have tool to use in case you experience constant data corruption, virus intrusion within the MBR or bad sectors in your HDs, since it re-initializes the hard drive to its original FACTORY CONFIGURATION by writing a zero byte to its each and every location on the disk: this way it can fully and irreversibly erase all data (if present) from your disk.
Low Level Formatting also hides the bad sectors in order to create a clean and error-free surface for your data.

Please note that, as far as I'm concerned, you can NOT use it to format (and wipe) your disk if you run it from the same disk, as it needs to run while the disk is not in use by your OS.
So if you want to use this tool to format your C (Windows) partition, you will need to use a live CD or DVD with a WinPE or LiveXP or Live7 on it. In this case, to safely format or wipe your C (Windows) partition, just use the freeware Live CD MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition.

Hello Karl,
This is used for a special situation. We usually won't wipe a partition or a drive. However, huge amount recovery software tools are really potential threats for business security or personal privacy. Sometimes we might have an emergency need for this kind of tool to even wipe system drive.
I really don't understand why almost everybody is posting questions and problems, when the very first post is from Macroit stating

Diskpart Command built in Windows cannot erase sensitive data irreversibly. This tool is used for erasing confidential data permanently which has no possibility to recover.

Bei Laptops und Netbooks wird die Datenlöschung schon

Ich kenne den source code zwar nicht, aber es wird genauso funktionieren wie z.B. Acronis-TrueImage. Hier wird das Programm von der Systemplatte ins RAM geladen und überschreibt dann bei einem Restore die gesamte System-Partition (also auch das Programm selbst auf der Platte). Die Daten dafür werden natürlich vom Backup auf einer anderen Partition gelesen. Somit ist das Programm prinzipiell während des Vorgangs auf keiner Festplatte mehr, sondern nur im RAM.
Deswegen ist eine LiveCD lebensnotwendig, falls ein Restore nicht klappt oder abgebrochen wird.

Danke für deinen sensationellen Hinweis, eine Sicherheitskopie der Daten zu machen. Beinahe hätte ich meine gesamten Festplatten gelöscht und mich gewundert, warum nichts mehr geht.

Also ich benutze zur Vernichtung von Daten auf Festplatten C7H5N3O6.
0,2 Kilogramm reichen und die Daten sind mit Sicherheit für immer weg.
PS: auch die NSA stellt dann nix mehr her!

Für jemanden der die Paragon Programme nicht kennt bzw. nicht hat kein schlechtes Programm. Natürlich gilt auch hier, für den Fall der Fälle, Sicherheitskopie auf einem anderen Datenträger.

Und da soll man einer solchen Software vertrauen? Never ever!

Dieses Programm benötigt aber ganz offensichtlich ein laufendes Windows, um arbeiten zu können. Wie es dann aber die Systempartition löschen soll, auf der sich das Programm selbst und das von ihm benötigte Windows befindet, kann der Hersteller weder hier, noch auf der Herstellerseite und auch nicht auf der englischen Seite sagen, wo ausdrücklich danach gefragt wurde. Auch das Aufspielen der portablen Version auf einen USB-Stick kann keine Lösung bringen, denn sobald die Löschtätigkeit der Software das benötigte Windows auf der Systempartition anzuknabbern anfängt, stürzt natürlich auch dieser kanadische Murks ab.
Dass dieser Hersteller eine Produkteigenschaft behauptet, aber nicht einmal auf Nachfrage auf der englischen Seite erklären kann, wie das mit dieser Software gehen soll, ist grotesk.

Wenn ihr eine Festplatte weitergebt oder einen PC, kann man alle gelöschten Dateien wieder herstellen, auch wenn die platte Formatiert wurde oder zum teil überschrieben.
Das soll ein hinwies sein für die Idioten über mir.

Die Partitionsprogramme von Macrorit sind hervorragend.
Für einen Disk Wiper muss man allerdings kein Geld ausgeben. Es gibt sie als gute Freeware in Mengen - oder sind in andere System Utilities integriert (Bsp Glary, TuneUp)

Ich tauche meine Festplatten immer in Salzsäure. Davon werden die auch "blitzblank".
Und ich glaube sogar, dass man danach meine Daten auch nicht wiederherstellen kann, oder?
