Ok - I know I don't NEED a screensaver. With that said, a couple of things about this one.
Pros:
The install on my win 7 64x was super easy, and when I started it up there was no - screen flicker to black - no "of crap" moment when you wonder if it will crash your system.
No need to "register" or give your email address (not that that sort of thing worries me).
Nice settings page. The program will auto-start if you allow it (you do have a yes or no option.)
Graphics are pretty good - no weird shaped trees, etc.
You have an option to hide your screen icons while the screensaver is running. Right-click the system tray icon to exit, and all your desktop icons re-appear.
Cons:
No adjustment of the snowfall amounts, so you just get a "friendly" snowfall - no blizzard option. :)
I have dual flat screens and it showed up on both of them. An option to have just one screen show would have been nice.
No music - which is not really a "con," I was just expecting it from other screen savers from GOTD.
My opinion: I like the product because it didn't cause any system problems and, well, it is very nice looking.
Get it while it's free, and Merry Christmas!!
#1 . Disappointed? GOTD isn't a social benefit software company for people who can't afford their software. They are here to gather info for market research. Without feedback, whether positive or negative, on the software that is presented here they won't be able to receive anything of value to giveaway in the future. Our job for the gifts that we are given is to tell gotd whether the software is good or bad and if we've found any faults. Instead of moaning about not getting anything worthwile, try doing your job like Giovanni does everyday, and let the software company who spent a fortune producing your freebie a decent opinion. See if you got the courage to drag some of your family to your computer and see if they like this. My neighbour in the appartment next door, loved the last astrogemini screensaver, because she is still using winXP. Her computer is and old piece of charcoal and couldnt handle the screensaver properly so she had to carry on using the standard windows screensaver.
I'll go over to her computer and install this just for fun. I've installed this wallpaper and am a little disappointed that Animatedpaints can only create this with their wallpaper maker that they have given away here before. I could have done this by myself in 10 minutes with the wallpaper maker. I'll add it to the show, just for fun.

Leider kein Weihnachtsgeschenk von GotD.
Ehrlich, da hätte ich schon ein bisschen mehr Einfallsreichtum erwartet.
Mit Convertern aller Art und Screen Savern kann ich inzwischen schon meinen Heizungskeller tapezieren.
Eine richtig gute Vollversion ohne Einschränkungen, das wäre es gewesen. Vom guten Backup-Programm, zum Smartphone Verwaltungs- Programm, Browser-Cleaner, Audio-Programme bis zum Windows-Optimierer, die Bandbreite ist riesig.
Liebes GotD-Team, zuerst mal DANKE für den kostenlosen, täglichen Service, das ganze Jahr über. Aber für die Feiertage wie Weihnachten, Ostern z.B. solltet Ihr Euch schon etwas Besseres als einen Weihnachts Screen Saver einfallen lassen, der noch dazu morgen absolut out ist.

Das ist nicht euer Ernst?! Ihr solltet euch sowas von schämen, mit so einem Krempel hier zu Weihnachten anzukommen. Wie herzlos seid ihr eigentlich? Gerade heute zum Weihnachtsfeiertag hätte ich ein Adobe Photoshop CS6 oder MS Office 2013 Pro Plus erwartet. Das ist ja so, als wenn ich meinem Sohn zu Weihnachten Geschenkpapier schenken würde.
Mein Gott, an Weihnachten ein blöder Screensaver. Kriegt man an jeder Ecke für umsonst. Eine Beleidigung für jeden User! >:( Unglaublich, wie tief das Niveau gesunken ist.
Daumen ganz weit nach unten und keine schönen Weihnachtstage an das GOTD-Team.

Ab Mitte September gabs im hiesigen Aldi schon Stollen und Lebkuchen.
Da hatten die Bayern noch Sommerferien!
Und wer benötigt heutzutage noch Screensaver? Das war Ende der 80er mal ne nette Idee, freiwillig tut man sich sowas nicht mehr an.
