The previous version of this software had a really terrible flaw. It would download impartial database backups making you THINK you had a backup but you didn't. One day when checking I opened some of the database files in a text editor and scrolled to the bottom and found the files all ended prematurely with an error message.
The program didn't throw any error message, I thought I had weeks of good backups but in truth I had zero backups- luckily I didn't need them and was able to go back to manual backups.
The FTP backups also failed on both my websites- they would just die after a few hundred kilobytes out of a hundred megabytes or so were transferred.
Sorry to say. The developer did not read the feedback the last time. So once again they put out a useless software. I have WordPress sites. Just one site has quite a number of files and folders. Last time this software was offred you had to thick all folders in the three line. This time I once again tested to take only the root of the site. That means COPY EVERYTHING at root and up. I even gave it total access to the webhotell root. I get a dummy file again and a backup of 48kb. Yeah right the zip install for wordpress is in MB. DEVELOPER stop wasting ouer time and request shitloads of money for something that never has worked, and likely never will either :(.

Really clear and simple interface. Haven't tested it thoroughly yet but looks promising. Will return later for more info.
@keefIt's because you've got a FunWeb infection and your IP (why reveal that???) points to KORNET, a range of IP's notorious for spamming and malware. I bet you get blocked on more than one site, the IP range is in quite a lot of blocklists. The good suffering the bad...
Today's giveaway, despite having a pretty low GAOTD USER RATING at the moment, looks like a decent tool which does its job pretty flawlessly, since it sports everything you need to back up your website. In fact it uses FTP and MySQL scripts and supports Dropbox, SugarSync and other similar service which altogether make restoring your site a breeze.
My only concern is that, as every other GAOTD, it cannot be updated to future enhanced versions.

Downloaded and installed, but during the registration process I noticed this version allows only 25 FTP and 25 mySQL backups. Stopped and uninstalled, so I have no idea how the program actually works.
This will probably be more than sufficient for those who have a limited number of websites/databases to work with, but just won't work for me.

Da will ich mich dem "Weisgarnix" mal anschließen.
Wenn's hier 'ne Software gibt die mal selbst aus irgendeinem Grund gar nicht brauchen kann, sollte man eigentlich keinen Kommentar abgeben und das denen überlassen die Verwendung für so ein Programm haben.
Ein Daumen runter für Software die ich nicht verwenden kann, nicht verstehe und somit auch gar nicht in der Funktion getestet habe, ist ja wohl voll daneben.
... und morgen gibt es Photoshop in Vollversion und weil ich es nicht brauchen kann, Daumen runter für das Programm! :-P
Wir sind doch hier nicht bei Computerbild !

Die Beschreibung dieses Programms ist wieder einmal ein Musterbeispiel dafür, dass Software-Fritzen nicht mehr in der Lage sind, in allgemein verständlicher Weise zu erklären, wozu ihr Zeug gut sein soll. Leute, lasst das doch von normalen Menschen für euch machen. Es kann so einfach sein: Dieses Programm erstellt eine Sicherungskopie von der eigenen Homepage. Und das war's. Anstatt des ganzen anderen Gesülzes solltet ihr lieber noch sagen, wo die Kopie aufbewahrt wird, und zwar im Klartext, und das bereits in der Beschreibung auf dieser Seite.

Na wenn das mal ein brauchbares tool ist? Brauchst du täglich, sogar mehrfach, ist komplett in deutsch, ist nicht von der Themidaseuche betroffen und einsetzbar sogar in externen Locations. Ich kann die guten Beurteilungen voll nachvollziehen. War wieder ein durchschlagender Erfolg, da kann doch niemand meckern. Gut, dass sich 75% irren, kann doch mal vorkommen. Weiter so, immer lustig hier. Vielen Dank!

Habs noch nicht getestet, aber vom Umfang her, den es bieten soll, ist das ein gutes Programm, kann das Gemeckere nicht verstehen. Vor allem von den Fachmännern, die keine Datenbank einsetzen und nicht wissen, was das ist oder wofür man bei mehr als einer statischen Homepage eine Datenbank gebrauchen könnte...^^
KEIN Programm wird genau den gewünschten Funktionsumfang aller GAOTD-User treffen. Dass manche Tools eben doch nicht ganz so viele User als Zielpublikum hat, finde ich entschuldbar, kostet das kanze schließlich nicht einen einzigen Cent.
Manchmal gibts hier ja schon Schwachsinn, heute aber nicht!

immer wenn du hier liest, "Daumen nach unten, Daumen nach oben, gestreckter Daumen nach..., alle Daumen und Zehen nach usw.", handelt es sich um unseren Forentroll. Der Typ ist mit seiner schizophrenen, perversen und langweiligen Masche von früher nicht mehr weiter gekommen. Nun macht er auf PC-Spezi nur sein "Daumengeschwafel" entlarvt den immer noch. Der schreibt schon gern mal 5- 10 Kommentare hier hintereinander, der Trollo. Der einzige Fehlalarm den der hat, ist der in seinem Oberstübchen.

Habe keine Website..deswegen kann ich darüber nichts sagen..Backubtool wie dieses könnt gut sein, wer ne Website hat..würde mich freuen wenn mal Acronis Pro oder ähnliches hier zum Download stehen würde..mal gespannt,was für ein Tool morgen hier veröffentlicht wird..

Das Tool ist super und läuft auch bei umfangreichen Webseiten mit Datenbanken einwanddfrei. Habe ca. 1100 Tabellen in einer top-Zeit gesichert.
Zum Thema Trojaner möchte ich mich dem Vorredner anschließen und wer nicht weiß, warum man eine SQL Datenbank sichern sollte und sich nicht erschließt, wie man SQL Datenbanken benötigt oder gar sichert (sicherlich nicht mit dem Total Commander ;-) ), der benötigt dieses Tool wirklich nicht! Kommentare sind i.O., wenn man weiß, worüber man spricht!

"Trojaner" deswegen, weil viele Viren durch themida (http://www.oreans.com/themida.php) verschlüsselt werden, damit sie sicher vor Virenscannern und ähnlichem sind! (Mehr über Themida: http://www.gidf.de/themida).
@Rating: Ich verstehe die negativen Bewertungen nicht, wahrscheinlich hat niemand einen ftp-Server oder benutzt Webhosting. (Benutzen wohl Facebook als "Homepage" :) )

Mein Webhoster bietet nur ein Backup vom Vortag. Trotzdem brauche ich dieses Tool nicht, denn ein Backup kann ich jederzeit mit dem Total Commander ziehen oder könnte jeden beliebigen FTP-Client nutzen, die es wie Sand am Meer gibt. Wozu ein FTP-Client eine MySQL-Datenbank braucht, erschließt sich mir nicht.

Weder im Archiv noch im Programm wurde durch Avast! ein Trojaner gefunden. Auch ein nachfolgender Systemscan brachte keinen Befund. Muß bei meinem Vorredner wohl ein Fehlalarm gewesen sein!?

Really simple interface, aber leider durch den Themida Trojaner wieder stark belastet.Website BackUp-Lösungen gehören natürlich auf jeden Rechner, da du sie täglich mehrfach einsetzen solltest. Die deutsche Oberfläche erleichtert die Arbeit mit dem einfach zu bedienenden tool
sehr und knapp $40 sind hierfür ein Schnäppchen. Eine sehr schöne Wochenendabgabe, Daumen steil nach unten und besten Dank an GAOTD!
