"Thumbs Up Is For The Quality Of The Software ONLY!"
The up/down votes CLEARLY state:
"User Rating: Rate It!"
Which shows that the Thumbs up is to tell others what you think of the software AS A USER.
It is not meant for people to use it because they:
Don't see the relevance of the software to them
think it might be useful/useless
are having a bad day
don't like the colour of the packaging
don't understand what a "User" is
Think that the comments are useless
Or anything else at all.
It is ONLY for People who have TRIED the software who wish to give their feedback on it.
Why Do we have this fight every single day?
I believe that the only way this will be fixed, is if people (ie regular, sensible GAOTD users who want the problems caused by this confusion rectified) start emailing GAOTD Customer Support on a regular basis, even daily, requesting these problems be addressed.
Some time back, I saw one poster with some excellent suggestions, it was so long ago I cannot hope to rememberor find them, but they included ideas like:

Different feedback Thumbs up/down, each for:
Was the interface attractive?
Was the Software easy to use?
Did You Download Today's Offer?
Did it do the job that it was supposed to, properly?
Do you think this software is useful?
Please notice that each question is quite specific, and (hopefully) gives the user no doubt as to what they are voting upon. If I have missed one, please let me know in the comments, and I will add it to the list.
One could only hope that such an implementation by GAOTD would be advantagious to the entire GAOTD community, as it will prevent a lot of comments about "how to use the site" (like this one), less flame wars (people fighting about how stupid someone is for not getting something right)and more feedback on the software (which is what this site is supposed to be about).
Please, if you agree, up-vote this comment, then use this contact form to express your wish for this to be implemented by GAOTD. These types of comments are posted here often, but GAOTD has taken no action, thus they are not listening to them.
If you want to change it, then please contact them and ask them to change it!
I also believe that "If the student hasn't learned, the teacher hasn't taught".
Not everyone on this site is as bright, qiuck or onto it as yourself, informed reader. Please do not flame them. it is not their fault, they are only students, and still learning. The fault lays with GAOTD, as their voting system may lead to confusion for newcomers and even regulars, as made clear by some of the comments we read here every day.
Again:
Fix the comments problems.
Stop the flame wars.
Fix the voting system.

My next comment further down is about the software.
Right.
The deafault folder it saves to is the Desktop.
Auto capture captures an image every 10 sec (or whatever you configure.)
It should save at least to a sub folder.
There is no hotkey to start or stop the automatic capture feature.
The play button does not warn you that it continues to capture in the background.
It is not particularly clear in the user interface that one button as for single capture and the other is for continuous capture. the icons should be larger and have some kind of text that explains what they are.
The images appear to be highly compressed, which is good because it means they have a very small size, but they are a little bit fuzzy. There does not appear to be any option to adjust the snapshot quality.
The options seem particularly limited after the giveaway of play claw just a couple of days ago.this feels like the first incarnation of a piece of software that someone has developed. I hope that with constructive feedback from the giveaway of the day crew this might become a powerful piece of software.
As for me, I will be uninstalling this, and sticking with play-claw.

@hotmatrixx (#3) You do know that GOTD implemented a similar voting system to this previously don't you?
If you think a single Yes/No vote confuses some people, then that is nothing when compared to the confusion that a multiple option voting system caused. It was a total disaster and made the current voting system look highly desirable and effective in comparison.
I would also like to add some feedback on the use of the software.
It has then "high autos screenshot make up on capture" feature. It still catches a ghost of the software in the screenshot.
I had to configure the hotkeys twice before they started working, but once they did they were fine.
The software seemed to take a long time to generate the screenshot.
It has an option to automatically open a capture in your preferred program, however it did not do this for me.
Listing the two e-mail option appears to work, however I cannot test it fully as I do not have a default e-mail client. the "open latest capture icon" also works.
Hopefully this helps someone making a decision as to whether the software as for them, or helps the developer to make a better version of it in the future.

Ich verstehe nicht das immer über die Installation und Key's so oft gemeckert wird. In der Regel bekommt man aber das was man möchte. Anders bei PC-Welt wo Engelmann kein Key schicken will,warum auch immer? Somit ist der Tipp leider nicht brauchbar.
Ich hätte das Programm gerne genutzt aber wo bekommme ich den Key her?
Zum heutigen Angebot: ich benutze "Printkey" dafür.

Vielen Dank euch dreien, geneukt (Nr. 2), Jochen und Wordbird (Nr.4 und 5) für eure tollen Software-Tipps (Magix Web Designer und Ashampoo-Snap 4).
Jagutherrschaften (Nr. 7): Du hast vollkommen recht, was die Software-Bewertung anbelangt. "Daumen runter" geht erst, wenn man die Software auch wirklich heruntergeladen und getestet hat. Weil ich das nicht getan habe, verzichte ich fairerweise auf die Bewertung, ziehe aber eben den Test mit dem Ashampoo-Tool vor.
Für Printscreens hat mir ein Computerprofi das Programm Hardcopy empfohlen. http://www.hardcopy.de/ Allerdings hab ich es auch noch nicht selber ausprobiert. Aber gesehen hab ich es auf dem Rechner meines Kollegen.

Ich stimme dir grundsätzlich zu. Wenn mir ein Programm nicht gefällt, dann werte ich meist gar nicht. Weil mich diese ganzen Daumen runter Drücker auch ziemlich nerven, immerhin sind die Programme umsonst. Wenn ich es gut finde, dann gibt es immer(!) Daumen rauf von mir.
Allerdings muss man in diesem Fall heute klar sagen, dass dieses Tool heute nach dem vorgestrigen PlayClaw doch extrem schwach und überflüssig ist. Insbesondere weil einer der deutschen GaotD Partner, PC Welt, heute das viel bessere Ashampoo Snap 4 kostenlos im Kalender anbietet, was ja auch schon einige anmerkten.

Die einen Kommnetatoren bedanken sich fast schon schleimerische für Software die anderswo in vergleichbarer mit Qualität kostenlos und ohne Dankeschön gibt. Die anderen Versuchen die sich wiederholenden Angebot runter zumachen. Ich ärgere mich über hin und wieder versteckte Limitierungen aller Art. Dazwischen Beschimpfungen und intolleranz untereinander, wie wir sie älteren noch aus Zeiten des kalten Krieges kennen: "wenn dir was nicht passt oder Kritik äußeren willst, so gehe doch rüber!"
Sagt bitte alle was ihr konstruktiv zu sagen habt. Hört aber doch bitte auf euch wie im Kindergarten zu benehmen!

Wie immer wird von vielen sinnlos schlecht bewertet, ohne sich das Programm überhaupt angeschaut zu haben.
Nochmal als kleiner Hinweis: Es geht nicht darum "Daumen runter" zu klicken, wenn einem die Giveaway-Software des Tages nicht gefällt, weil man viel lieber die Adobe Creative Suite kostenlos gehabt hätte. Es geht um die Bewertung der Software.
Meine Fresse aber auch, was sich hier so alles tummelt....

Im PC Welt Adventskalender gibt es heute kostenlos "Ashampoo Snap 4", das wesentlich mehr als dieses Programm kann. Mit Snap4 kann man auch Videos aufzeichnen, Screenshots aufwändig nachbearbeiten, komplette scrollende Webseiten ins PDF-Format umwandeln etc.
Einfach mal schauen, vergleichen und dann entscheiden... ;-)

Erst waren es die Converter, die hier in regelmäßigen Abständen raus gehauen wurden, jetzt sind es die Screenshot tools und morgen wieder die Screensaver. Da kommt doch große Freude auf. Heute sogar ein Auto Screenshot Maker. Super, aber ich habe gar kein Auto und für Schnappschüsse nehme ich die Digital Kamera. Alles andere hätte mich bei GAOTD auch gewundert - und ein schönes Wochenende. Besten Dank.
