*Tries to install the Ashampoo Toolbar during installation and change your homepage. Uncheck during installation if you don't want. [GOTD version may not have this -- I don't know.]
*Can burn DVDs but cannot author DVDs. The difference is when you burn a movie DVD you are putting DVD compliant videos (i.e. VOB) onto a DVD; if you burn non-DVD compliant videos onto the DVD, like AVI or MP4, the DVD just acts like a VCD instead of a proper DVD. When you author a movie DVD, you take non-DVD compliant videos (e.g. AVI, WMV, MP4, etc.), convert them to DVD compliant format (i.e. VOB), and burn them onto a DVD.
*Ripping/copying DVDs cannot bypass DRM protection
*Must provide your e-mail address for registration
*Larger and more resource intensive than rival burning software; "bloated" some may even say

I like Burning Studio and I've bought previous versions. I was even considering upgrading very soon. However this GOTD download has caused me to reconsider ever getting anything from Ashampoo again. I've tolerated their endless emails bombarding me with upgrade offers and deals on their software, but this download makes me mad.
This download will hijack stick a toolbar on all your browsers and change the default search engine to ashampoo. The install didn't prompt me for any of that. It just changed, my Firefox, ID and Chrome browsers without my permission. In my opinion this POS software now qualifies as MALWARE.
This GAOTD is one of the best cheaper alternatives to NERO available on the market right now.
Great choice for burning both Audio & Video files, can also design and print covers and booklets on the fly!!
So highly recommended!!
However if this GAOTD refers to version 11, you can get it from here too (I believe that, unlike this GAOTD, this universal key enables you to update it without charge in the future...and it should still work):

It would be good if Ashampoo would put the software, Burning Studio 2013, on their website that they provide us the link for.

The difference between this free version and the pay version is - the pay version will let you drag AVI or MOV or MP4 files in and it will automatically convert and burn a DVD-Video disc at the highest bitrate possible for the total time of the files you drag in, and you can mix AVI and MOV and MP4 and more all together and make a DVD-Video disc. It is great for that! This free version will burn a DVD-Video disc only if you convert and prepare the files some other way, it will burn a disc in DVD-Video format but it does not do those video conversions. And the pay version has basic video editor functions like cut or trim and simple titles.
Be careful to go slow and choose the custom installation and uncheck the Ashampoo toolbar, if you don't want it, and you probably do not want it.
Otherwise this GOTD is a free commercial quality and top quality burning and audio ripping program.
If you get too many promotional emails from Ashampoo, you can opt out any time and they are good about honoring that.

WOW!Da gibt es mit Ashampoo BurningStudio tatsächlich noch ein anderes Brenn-Programm auf dem Markt.Ich dachte immer, dass man nur mit Nero brennen kann. Na ist doch prima, kostenlos und funktioniert super. Habe mir natürlich eine themidafreie Version auf einer seriösen Seite geladen. Zum Glück findet man hier täglich so viele brauchbare und nützlich postings von Menschen, die wo Schulbildung haben. Super Sache, prima, weiter so.

Großartig! Funktioniert hier wunderbar, auch wenn ich noch nicht
alles getestet habe. Wer NERO nicht mag, ist hier bestens und
heute auch noch gratis bedient! Das bisschen Eigenwerbung von
Ashampoo kann man verschmerzen! Ganz wichtig: Bei Installation
Toolbars und den andern Kram deaktivieren (außer natürlich man
möchte das haben)! Guten Rutsch und Gut Brenn!

Dieses Programm muss man einfach haben – ohne dieses tolle Programm ist ein Computer überhaupt nicht verwendbar.
Man kann auch über die kostenlose Schadsoftwarebeigabe hinwegsehen – Hauptsache, man hat diese absolut notwendige kostenlose Programm.
Die Registry wird überhaupt nicht verändert – dieses tolle Programm lässt sich installieren, ohne das es bei der Installation zu Einträgen in der Windows Registry kommt !
Der Computer wird auch nicht langsamer sondern eher schneller und sogar der Datenträger wird nicht voller, sondern ausschließlich mit absolut wichtigen Daten gefüllt.
Spam Mail bekommt man auch keine, sondern nur ausschließlich erwünschte und überaus wichtige Informationen über andere sehr wichtige Programme !
Unbedingt herunterladen und installieren weil es kostenlos erhältlich ist.

.....sorry, ich habe mich vertan. Es handelt sich um die alte Version "11" und die neue (Version 12) muss man gegen gutes Geld upgraden! Aber man sollte nicht 2013 schreiben, wenn es eine neue Version bereits gibt. Altes Zeug wird derzeit in jedem Newsletter kostenlos angeboten!

1. Komisch - selbst auf den Ashampoo Seiten ist das BurningStudio2013
noch nicht verfügbar - der Link führt lediglich zum BurningStudio-12.
2. Die Filegrößen weichen erheblich voneinander ab.
Die hier angebotene Version ist lediglich gepackt 87,5 MB groß.
Das Burning Studio 12 hat eine gepackte Größe von 170 MB ist also
doppelt so groß.
Daraus ziehe ich die Schlußfolgerung, das es sich bei der hier
angebotenen Version nur lediglich um eine abgespeckte Version"
handeln kann - also keine Vollversion im eigentlichem Sinne ist!!

Es handelt sich keineswegs um die neue Version 9 sondern um eine alte, die man gratis überall bekommt!!! Schade, da suggeriert man wieder einmal etwas und fällt hinein! Keine seriöse Sache!!!

Ist nicht die aktuelle Version. Diese Version 2013 wurde bereits in diversen Promotions-"Adventskalendern" angeboten. Die aktuelle Version ist die 12.0.3 vom 04.12.2012 und kann auf der Herstellerseite immer als verbilligtes Update erworben werden. Da hole ich mir themidafrei das Update bei Ashampoo und bestelle dort gleich sämtliche Newsletter ab. Frohes Fest!

Burning Studio war lange Zeit mein Liebings-Brennprogramm unter Windows. Bis ... ja, bis ich auf einen mehrfach nachvollziehbaren Fehler gekommen bin, den die Freeware CDBurnerXP nicht hatte. Aber den Vogel abgeschossen hat damals der Support von Ashampoo, nachdem sie mich baten, das Problem mit dem Nachfolger zu testen und denen das Ergebnis mitzuteilen. Nö, so nicht!
