Personally, I avoid cnet like the plague, therefore I would suggest to go to Softpedia instead, and download those tools from there.
Also, it is important to note that Free File Splitter comes with adware, so when installing this program, one should be very careful and uncheck that stuff.

What interest to use this software while "7zip" can do the job for free with more features such as : Strong AES-256 encryption in 7z and ZIP formats.

An app which in 2015 says it can help me split large files into smaller ones to fit onto floppy disks:

certainly brings the glow of nostalgia to today. Unfortunately though, nothing else, because as the developer says:
"In case of merging option, you have to select file extension in which type you want to merge smaller parts of file.
Note: It only merges file parts split by same software. It doesn’t merge other files"
If that's the case, then this proprietary splitting / merging would seem to require that not only must I install this on my own computer, the intended recipient of any emailed file chunks which I send must likewise have it installed on her / his computer. Or, er, not?
Ah well. Thanks, GAOTD, and thanks, too, to Aplus Software Inc for the Memory Lane trip back to 1995, but no thanks: this app may not have entirely lost itself in time, but it's certainly got lost in translation.
To merge split files does the recipent have to have this software installed too? It is not clear on GOTD but ploughing through the rather mangled English text on the APlus website it looks as if it must be required:
"You can email large file after splitting file into small chunks and send individual chunks with separate email. On the other side email receiver will merge all those small chunks and get original file without any data loss."
The website says that their software will not merge split files created by other software so it's odds on that APlus software is required to merge their own split files. Perhaps Aplus can comment?

In der heutigen Zeit ein must have für jeden PC. So könnt ihr eure Videos sogar auf Disketten bequem abspeichern. Ein sehr hilfreiches tool. Was haben wir geweint, aber nicht vor Glück. Vielen Dank!

Aplus tools sollte es als Freeware geben - keine verkäufliche Qualität, aber für die Wundertüte reicht es. Konnte es nicht herunterladen, da das Facebook-Fenster den normalen Download blockiert. Habe aber auch heute wieder nichts verpasst. Nur weiter so...

Kann man eigentlich mit jedem gängigen Packprogramm auch bewerkstelligen wobei die Datei dann auch noch verkleinert wird. Sehe also keinen Nutzen in diesem Programm.
