This isn't truly necessary -- there are excellent freeware utilities available. One may already be on your machine: 7Zip. Many people don't know you can also encrypt files via rightclick context menu with it, using AES.
Another popular one, also using AES, would be AxCrypt.
I stopped using AxCrypt when I discovered it sometimes renders mp3 files corrupt after encrypting and decrypting it. Therefore, if you want to stick to AES, 7ZIp would be the better choice, since it's the best compression software in any case.
Personally, I simply do not trust AES however, since it has a much too strong (for my liking) connection with the US Government and NSA, who was amongst the judges who chose it as the current encryption standard.
If you like other and better options, such as Serpent and TwoFish, then Cryptermite v 2.0b would be your best choice -- it also has rightclick context menu integration, is continuously updated (last on 17 August 2017), can create an encrypted self-extracting file (other people do not need to have it installed to decrypt the file, similar to 7 Zip and AxCrypt), and it has some other functions including secure chat function & a stego function, should you ever need it.
I simply use it, since it's the only freeware using TwoFish or Serpent, with rightclick function, which can also create self-extracting encrypted file.
In other words, similar to 7 Zip and AxCrypt, but with with better encryption.

Is there any time limitations for this program?

Hi dadams,
the software can be used without time limit.

I agree....the question has not been answered! Is this a 6-month license? A one year license? Or? Does one still get updates with this download? After the license "expires", does the program still work or is the data, etc. that one has encrypted just get "lost"? A tad more definition please!

Darn, I thought maybe it was a version of BASIC language. Never mind I guess.

abylonsoft, the programming language of BASIC is capitalized because it is an acronym for Beginners All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code.
When dealing with things in the computer field, it's an accepted standard that BASIC is a programming language, and basic or Basic is just simple. Which is part of the reason why the creator of BASIC named it so that would be it's acronym. She probably thought is was worth a giggle. :)
If you keep using a capitalized BASIC in your name, you will continue to confuse people over this. Of course, as always, it's your choice.
Though as to the merits of this software package, I'll have to pass as I have no need in the foreseeable future to encrypt my files, they're mostly games and a few inexpensive software development packages which are sorely underused.
Thanks for doing a giveway of the day with your software. :)

You guys capitalized BASIC which is why it looks like the programming language. And we aren't stupid, everyone knows what the word basic means.
