The Good
* Has automatic and manual blocking of junk/phishing e-mails.
* Allows users to create a whitelist and blacklist of e-mail addresses and domains.
* Can automatically populates the whitelist of e-mail addresses based upon the e-mail addresses you have sent e-mails to.
* Allows users to control how e-mails are blocked, based on criteria such as sexual content, offensive language, "get rick quick", gambling, advertisements, embedded images, and e-mails with foreign languages.
* Gives users the ability to make use of SonicWALL's GRID database and blocked e-mails based upon that.
* Can send automatic send "challenge" e-mails making the e-mail sender confirm they are human.
* Supports multiple inbox Outlook setups.
The Bad
* Supports limited number of desktop e-mail clients: Outlook and Outlook Express/Windows Mail
* Each reported junk or phishing e-mail is not documented in the "Sent" folder.

According to the developers website the software is Client-based anti-spam and anti-phishing, They need to re-phrase that to say "MICROSOFT Client-based anti-spam and anti-phishing"
They need to address the fact that there are lots more Email Client software available which are not from Microsoft

I use Mailwasher which is a free spam filter that works independently from your mail client and so works with any mail client

A Micro$oft-only tool when the European Union has just obtained that the M$ email programs are not bundled any more with each version of Windows is a nonsense.
I suggest using MailWasher. It can "learn" how to distinguish SPAM from your junk emails, a really interesting feature. The free version works with only one email address, but it works really well, and with all email programs!

upps - noch mal:…brauch ich nicht , der Spamfilter bei Arcor ist genial. In den letzten zwei Jahren ist nur eine private mail im Spam Ordner gelandet , anders herum : Es kam kein Spam mehr auf die Festplatte.

Ich nutze seit über 5 Jahren den Spamihilator für Outlook und Outlook Express. (Kostenlos!)
In dieser Zeit bekam ich höchstens 2 Spam-Mails auf meinen Rechner.
Mit den Spam-Einstellungen meines Providers (Arcor)und dem Spamihilator fühle ich mich auf der sicheren Seite.
Wichtig ist, die Sicherheitsstufe beim Spamihilator auf HOCH zustellen.
Was mir auch gefällt, dass ich die Mails dort mit komplettem Datenheader als NUR-TEXT erst lesen kann, um sie dann zu empfangen oder gleich abzulehnen.

SonicWall haben wir als Hardwarelösung vor dem Exchange Server. Sehr gute Spamerkennung und Konfigurationsmöglichkeiten. Aber die Spamerkennung von Gmail (in Deutschland Googlemail) ist deutlich besser. SonicWall lässt Sachen durch, die sogar der Junkfilter von Outlook als Spam erkennt.

Wenn ich Outlook benutzen würde,sicher ein brauchbares programm.
Aber durch die weiter verbreitung von Outlook eben auch Angriffsziel Nr.1
