Your best bet is to have at least a few undelete programs installed (and at least a couple of the suites, for that matter), because chances are 1-2 programs alone will not be enough to get that deleted file you really REEEEAAAALLY need!
As for today's offering: You have got to set your product apart from all the others if you want to charge such a high price. Also, the name makes it sound like it's meant primarily for Windows 7, which is not only several years old, it's weird to have something so limited.

Just try Recuva. The "Deep search" will help you recover many files that you lose.

Software that will remain functional as it is, over the years, will normally come with a permanent userlicense. A Photo-application is a good example. New versions are no reason to stop older versions from working, but new versions might be only for selling because of the efforts modernising the code.
Software that needs continuous effort to stay effective and functional, normally comes with a temporary userlicense. You have to renew to pay for the continuous efforts. A virusscanner is a good example because of the signature updates. A cloud based application is another example because of maintenance of the accessed cloud servers. New versions might be a reason to stop older versions from working (compatibility) and should be bought because of the effort to create the new version and keeping things functional and actual.
About the giveaway:
There is no reason why recovery software should stop being available over time, nor that newer versions would stop older versions to function. It would be reasonable to accompany recovery software with a permanent userlicense.
After buying this type of software, nobody has to do any effort (unless you accept doing the efforts yourself by paying for license renewals) to keep things functional and nobody should earn something for doing nothing.
But in this case you are entitled to get updates during your temporary userlicense of one year. And of course, updates have to be made, efforts have to be taken. That would make it fair to accompany this software with a subscription, right? No, not at all! ...
Suppose you want to order a pizza with ham and cheese but then they tell you you can only do so when you also order anchovy (tied sales).
I would tell them, I just want pizza with ham and cheese. Í don't like ruining my pizza-deal and pay extra for what I don't want.
I'm telling here, I only want recovery software without the tied sales of updates. Only acceptable with a permanent user license.

Hallo Ihr Dauer-Nörgler (to whom it concerns), hier gibt es 365 kostenlose Programme im Jahr, völlig kostenfrei. Dafür zahlt Ihr wo anders 5 bis 10 € im Monat, habt Ihr das schon wieder mal vergessen.
Manche Programme sind sehr gut, manche weniger. Ihr allein habt doch die Wahl, also verschont uns in Zukunft mit Eurem dämlichen Gemecker, das sich sehr häufig auf der Intelligenz-Stufe von Küchenschaben bewegt.
Wenn ich ein Programm nicht verwenden kann oder es mir nicht gefällt deinstalliere ich es mit dem kostenlosen REVO-Uninstaller und mein System ist wieder porentief rein oder ich verwende vor der Installation das kostenfreie Toolwiz TimeFreeze und in Sekunden habe ich wieder den Zustand wie vor der Installation des ungeliebten Programms. Also was soll das unendliche Geheule???
Z.B. habe ich 7-Data Recovery Suite installiert, ein absolutes Super-Programm. Eine unbrauchbare 16 GB SD-Speicherkarte zu reparieren war für es eine der leichtesten Übungen. Mein Notebook war durch einen von mir verschuldeten, missglückten Partitions-Versuch nicht mehr zu starten. Für 7-Data Recovery Suite war das eine Sache von ca. 5 Min und das Notebook lief wieder ohne jedes Problem.
Deshalb ein herzliches DANKE schön an GOTD und kein Gemecker.

Da wird wohl Dein Antivirus- oder Dein Firewall-Programm was blockieren (oder Du BIST einfach beim Installieren nicht mit dem Internet verbunden); die Aktivierung erfordert nun mal Internet-Zugriff (Ausnahmen und weitere nützliche Infos kann man finden bei: "Supernature" die Seiten zu "GOTD".

Ich hätte schon ab und zu etwas von euch herunter geladen, aber bisher ist mir das ÜBERHAUPT NOCH NIE gelungen. ZIP - entpacken, alles geht wunderbar. Nur beim SETUP, da haperts, denn es wird mir ständig mitgeteilt, ich hätte keine Internet Verbindung.

Träumt nur weiter!
Meiner bescheidenen Meinung nach sollten Programme wie dieses – wenn sie schon keine Freeware sind – auf Basis einer einmaligen Zahlung angeboten werden, und nicht im Abonnement!

Hi,
ist zwar "nur" ne 1 Jahres Lizenz aber immerhin. Tipp: Lade dir hier das ZipArchiv runter, installiere aber die Free Edition direkt vom Hersteller. Du kannst die Free Edition mit der registrierungsnummer aus dem hier runtergeladenen Paket freischalten und sparst dir den GAOTD Installer mit all seinen (angeblichen?) Nachteilen.
BTW. stimmt der hier angegebene Preis nicht. Der reguläre Preis für diese Version ist 39,95 Dollar, derzeit sogar nur 29,95 Dollar dank "20% off" aktion. Beides meiner Meinung nach etwas zu hoch gegriffen, zumal es komplett Free alternativen gibt.
Trotzdem Daumen hoch, denn das Programm kann nichts für Preisgestaltung und es tut seinen Job hervorragend! Selbst einer "anformatierten" Festplatte konnte das Produkt noch verwertbare Daten entlocken und eine seit längerem in der Cam nicht mehr lesbare SD Karte fand das Tool geradezu "lecker" und hat 55 der vorhandenen Bilder rekonstruiert - besser als eine der free Alternativen, Respekt!
Die beschränkung der free edition auf nur 1 GB Daten halte ich für unglücklich gewählt. sollte anders geregelt werden.

Nein Danke, wieder nur eine Mogelpackung mit Jahreslizenz von einer Firma, die der deutschen Sprache nicht mächtig ist: erholt Ihre Dateien von fast jedem Storage Devices. Da nehme ich doch lieber Profisoftware und lasse die Warenprobe den Jublern und Jodlern. Vielen Dank!

Immer wird von Vollversionen geredet. Ganz ehrlich, für mich sind solche Programme mit Zeit-Programmverfall eher eine längere Testversion oder auch verlängerte Demoversion. Wenn Softwareanbieter schon kostenlos anbieten, dann bitte eine wirkliche Vollversion ohne jegliche Einschränkungen. (Abgesehen von 1 Jahres Abos wie Anti-Viren Software)
